HSE issues advice on workplace skin conditions
Britain’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has issued advice on skin diseases related to the workplace.Highlighting that such conditions can be contracted in most workplace environments, the HSE has nevertheless stressed that they mostly occur in professions designated as high-risk, including printing, hairdressing and catering, who may work for London recruiters.Among the preventative measures recommended by the HSE includes the reminder that any contaminants that come into contact with the skin should be washed away as promptly as possible.”Work-related skin problems are caused or made worse by exposure to/coming into contact with substances such as chemicals, and also through having wet hands for long periods, while at work,” said the HSE.Noting that the condition commonly known as eczema is the most frequently developed, the HSE has observed that other conditions such as skin cancer and urticaria can also be a problem.The HSE also recommends that skin should be moisturised regularly.
